Common questions

How is this different from a NOAA marine forecast?+

A NOAA forecast gives everyone the same numbers. GoNoGo Weather reads those numbers against the wind, wave, and visibility limits you set for your own boat, then gives you one plain GO, CAUTION, or NO-GO call to help you decide. It is built on official NOAA and NWS data — it does not replace it.

Does it work for sailboats and powerboats?+

Yes. You set your own limits, so the same tool works whether you run a center console, a trawler, or a cruising sailboat. Your limits, your call.

Where does the data come from?+

Live NOAA buoys, NWS coastal and marine forecasts, and marine wave models. Data can be delayed or incomplete, so it is for reference and situational awareness, not a guarantee.

Can I check conditions along a route?+

Yes. Enter a departure and destination and it checks the conditions leg by leg along the way, so you can anticipate the rough stretch and make a more informed decision.
